Protests Erupt in Manipur Against PM Modi’s Visit, Clashes Reported

Imphal (Monitoring Desk india): Fresh unrest has broken out in India’s conflict-hit state of Manipur, where angry locals have launched protests against Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his scheduled visit.

According to reports from APP, clashes erupted in Churachandpur district when a group of protesters vandalized decoration and renovation work being carried out on roads in preparation for the Prime Minister’s arrival.

Police intervened to disperse the demonstrators, which led to violent confrontations between security forces and local residents. Eyewitnesses said that the protesters expressed resentment over the government’s failure to address long-standing grievances in the region.

Authorities have stepped up security across Manipur, fearing further escalation as Modi’s visit approaches.
