KP Minister Denies Video Allegations Against CM Suhail Afridi

A new political controversy has surfaced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Provincial Minister Meena Khan Afridi has strongly denied claims made by Akhtar Wali Khan alleging Chief Minister Suhail Afridi’s involvement in the May 9 incidents.

KP Government Dismisses Allegations

In a press conference held in Peshawar on November 2, 2025, KP Government spokesperson Shafiq Jan and Provincial Minister Meena Khan Afridi said that the videos shared by Akhtar Wali Khan were misleading and edited.

Afridi stated that such allegations had been made since the very first day to prevent Suhail Afridi from becoming the Chief Minister.
He added that political opponents even went to court to stop his appointment.

Videos Not Related to May 9 Events

According to the KP Minister, the shared videos are not from May 9, as claimed by Akhtar Wali Khan.
Afridi clarified that Chief Minister Suhail Afridi was in Peshawar on that day and had not traveled to Lahore.

“The videos being circulated are from Zaman Park, when there was an attack on the PTI leadership — not from the May 9 incidents,”
said Meena Khan Afridi.

Opposition’s Claims Continue

Earlier, Akhtar Wali Khan claimed that the Chief Minister was involved in the May 9 events and hinted that more videos would be released soon.
He called on the Chief Minister to “ask the barristers accompanying him about the possible legal consequences.”

Akhtar Wali further said,

“If attacking military installations is not terrorism, then what is?
Your leader must apologize to the state and Pakistan’s armed forces for May 9.”
