The Global Sumood Flotilla, an international humanitarian convoy heading towards Gaza, has announced that it will reach its destination within four days. Despite facing some technical issues, the organizers assured that there would be no major delay in their mission.
According to foreign media reports, the flotilla consists of 47 ships currently sailing through the Mediterranean Sea. The mission’s primary objective is to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza and deliver essential humanitarian aid, including food and medical supplies, to the besieged population.
Meanwhile, opposition lawmakers in the United States have urged the Trump administration to ensure the safety of the humanitarian convoy. According to Al Jazeera, four Democratic senators sent a joint letter to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, calling for protective measures.

In their letter, senators Ed Markey, Elizabeth Warren, Chris Van Hollen, and Jeff Merkley emphasized that the flotilla is a peaceful initiative aimed at delivering urgent humanitarian aid. They expressed concerns over reports that the convoy may face drone attacks and hostile actions from Israel.
“Under international humanitarian law and human rights conventions, the Global Sumood Flotilla must be protected. The international community cannot allow peaceful aid missions to be targeted,” the senators wrote.
The flotilla’s journey has already gained global attention, highlighting the critical humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Organizers reaffirmed their determination to continue the mission, stressing that the world must act to end the suffering of innocent civilians living under blockade.
