Gilgit: The only CT scan machine at the region’s biggest hospital has been out of service for the past six months, leaving hundreds of patients struggling for medical diagnosis. Despite several written requests from the hospital administration, the Health Department has not yet taken any practical steps to repair it.

According to hospital sources, multiple appeals were sent to the authorities, but due to lack of funds and departmental negligence, no progress has been made.
As a result, patients are forced to go to private laboratories or travel to other cities for CT scans, which is both costly and inconvenient.

Local citizens have expressed anger and disappointment over the situation, calling it a serious failure in the healthcare system.

“This kind of negligence in the health sector is unacceptable. The government must act immediately,” said a resident of Gilgit.

Patients and citizens have demanded that the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan restore the CT scan machine as soon as possible so that people can get affordable and timely medical services without depending on expensive private centers.
