Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Defense Agreement to Increase Troop Deployment, Says Khawaja Asif

Islamabad – Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif announced that the recently signed defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will lead to an increase in the number of Pakistani troops stationed in the Kingdom. He added that the pact is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s economy as well.

A “Historic” Agreement

Speaking to Geo News, Asif described the deal as “historic” and a turning point in bilateral relations. “This agreement is the result of a decisive victory for the truth. In 75 years, we have signed defense agreements before, but when difficult times came, those who signed them did not support us,” he said.

The minister emphasized that unlike past arrangements, the new agreement carries strategic and economic significance. He noted that Saudi Arabia’s partnership will enhance both security cooperation and Pakistan’s financial stability.

Troop Deployment in Saudi Arabia

As part of the agreement, Pakistan will increase its military presence in Saudi Arabia. While specific details of the deployment were not disclosed, Asif confirmed that the expansion will strengthen defense cooperation between the two nations.

He also hinted that similar agreements with other friendly countries could follow. “Other defense agreements are possible with nations that support us. Those who are not our well-wishers will naturally be unhappy with this development,” Asif remarked.
