Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Ali Amin Gandapur Stresses Need for Kalabagh Dam

Islamabad: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur has said that the construction of the Kalabagh Dam is essential for the future of Pakistan. He emphasized that if there are any concerns regarding the project, they should be resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding.

Speaking to the media after a party meeting at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad, the CM highlighted the importance of building the dam for the country and future generations. He said that Pakistan cannot afford losses due to provincial differences, and the interests of the whole nation must come first.

Gandapur added that the absence of major dams has caused widespread destruction during heavy rains and floods in recent years. “We often hesitate to mention the names of some dams, but Kalabagh Dam is a necessity for the state. If anyone has reservations, they should be addressed through discussions,” he said.

The chief minister also assured that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is ready to play its part in the construction of the dam. He urged other provinces to contribute as well, so that this national project can finally become a reality.

Why Kalabagh Dam Matters?

Experts have long argued that the Kalabagh Dam could help Pakistan tackle water shortages, generate hydroelectric power, and prevent flooding. Supporters believe it will boost agriculture and secure water storage for the future. However, the project has faced political resistance and concerns from different provinces.

Ali Amin Gandapur’s statement once again brings the debate into the spotlight, stressing unity and cooperation for Pakistan’s long-term stability.
